“The Artist ElJay”, a native of Kansas City, MO., is an Independent Pop/R&B singer, songwriter, dancer, performer, model, actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist
Since his breakout as an Independent Artist in 2019, he has appeared in podcast, blogs, and magazines, including the largest music magazine, Music Connection JUN/JUL 2021 Edition Vol. 45. His collaboration with Big Noise marketing firm, on a new artist campaign, placed him in front of millions of promoters that have afforded him the opportunity to perform on a variety of local and major platforms. These stages included, but is not limited to, recent opportunities opening for mainstream artists, Muni Long and Ginuwine. The Artist ElJay’s music has received consideration in the 64th Grammy Awards by the Recording Academy in the Best R&B Performance category, for two of his songs. The same music garnered 500K+ organic spotify streams in its first month and has steady climbed in numbers.
He has the esteemed pleasure of being represented by The Next Paige Agency Model and Talent based in KC, and co-represented by Images Agency in St. Louis, MO., The Artist has a catalog of music that includes two EP’s, one album, and several singles. He has produced multiple cover videos showcasing his perspective on other artists’ music, and produced his own music videos to a few of his songs. Early this year, The Artist ElJay launched out on his 2023 Kingdom Pop-Up Tour, performing covered music and new music that will release on his 2024 “Journey to the Kingdom” album.
Aside from music, The Artist serves his community in many ways. He now serves on the grant committee for ArtsKC, assisting with reviewing applications for Artist looking to obtain grants in the community. He is also in the beginning stages of creating and releasing his own accessory/apparel line. His goal for the remaining of 2023 is teaming up with his agency to create appearances in commercial, movie and films. All this while writing a book journaling his journey through struggle, pain, persistence, to success.
